I traveled to Gulf Shores on July 18 to film my first beach wedding: Shawn and Emily. The ceremony was performed outside the condo they were staying in, and the reception was at the Peninsula Golf Club. Very nice! This was shot using an XL1s as the wide shot, a GL1 for the front shot, and then a Canon G9 digital point and shoot camera with video capabilities for the “rear close ups”. Aside from trying to cover everything with one man, the other thing that caused an issue was the wind noise! It was very windy and none of my microphones liked it. When I got home, I researched wind noise reduction for microphones, and there are these blimps and furry things that cost about $300 that surround the mic to keep wind noise out. I may have to invest in a couple of those. Visit their page to view the video!

The DVD case insert design is below! This was my wife’s first major attempt at taking pictures at an event using her brand new Nikon D90 DSLR w/ a 18-105mm lens. I think they came out looking pretty good!

On the weekend of May 29, 2009 I had the pleasure of working for the Patel and DeThomas family. The wedding events started on May 29 with a Mendhi ceremony at Nisha’s parents’ house. The following day, a Vidhi ceremony was also held at her parents home. On Sunday, May 31, the wedding events started at 8:00 AM. The Pre-Ceremony and Baraat were immediately followed by the wedding ceremony at 11 AM. The ceremony concluded at 2:30 PM. During a short intermission, the Huntsville Marriott ballroom was transformed for the Reception which started at 7:00 PM and lasted until midnight.
