SAVANNAH HOUSE HOTEL - BRANSON, MO

A Sweet Southern Escape: Savannah House Hotel in Branson, Missouri

This year we tried a new winter vacation spot - Branson Missouri. Normally we go to Gatlinburg, TN which is very crowded and very hard to get around. So, we were super curious what Branson would be like. The first part of trip planning involved trying to find a place to stay. The Marriott Resort I wanted to stay at was booked and the Hilton’s didn’t look to promising - so off-brand hotel was the order of the day. In the end, we chose the Savannah House, and I can say - if you’re looking for a budget friendly hotel with decent food offerings and a friendly staff - this is the place you’ll want to stay! Nestled just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Branson’s entertainment district, this charming southern retreat has everything you need for a delightful stay—and then some! Here's why you’ll fall in love with this cozy getaway.

Location, Location, Location!

One of Savannah House’s biggest perks is its location. Perched on a scenic hill just off Highway 248 (the North side of the city), it offers a peaceful respite from the lively shows and attractions of Branson’s Strip—all while being close enough to dive into the fun when you're ready. Want to catch a legendary Branson show or shop at the Tanger Outlets? They're just a short drive away. Plus, the hotel’s hilltop vantage point treats you to stunning Ozark Mountain views—perfect for sipping your morning coffee or watching the sunset. Initially I was concerned about the distance to the strip and all the activities based on looking at Google Maps, but once we got there, it’s literally less than 10 minutes to get to pretty much anything so it is super convenient!

There are 3 main routes (red dots) to get to the strip (circled in blue) which make it really easy to get to exactly where you want to go without having to sit in much traffic.

[Note that a lot of things are closed or close early on Sunday’s - so make sure and prepare for that, especially from a food perspective.]

Southern Hospitality at Its Best

The moment you step into Savannah House, you’re greeted with a warm smile and a lobby that feels like it jumped out of a southern charm magazine. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, whether it’s offering local tips or simply ensuring your stay is as comfy as possible. Each interaction I had with the staff was pleasant and we had no problems with any staff during our stay.

The Rooms: Cozy Comfort with a Touch of Elegance

The rooms at Savannah House are designed with comfort in mind. Think plush bedding, elegant furnishings, and enough space to stretch out after a day of Branson adventures. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with the whole family, there's a room to suit your needs. We opted for a double queen room. The room was a good size and indeed the beds were very comfy. I had space to set up my laptop and iPad on a nice desk area.

Breakfast and Dessert: Yes, Please!

Who doesn’t love free food? At Savannah House, you’ll wake up to a complimentary hot breakfast buffet that’s more than just your typical “continental” fare. The menu appeared the same while we were there and it included eggs, monkey bread, French toast, potatoes, 2 kinds of sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, and more. There’s also hot coffee, a juice station and a tea station. It’s the perfect way to fuel up before a day of exploring.

But the real reason we stayed here is: every evening, the hotel serves free hot cobbler, soft-serve ice cream, and cookies. Yes, you read that right. Dessert is included, and it’s as delightful as it sounds. If you’re not convinced to stay here yet, this should seal the deal! We knew Amelia would love this and we were not wrong! This was a hit every night.

[Note the dessert bar starts at 8:30PM and goes until 11:00 PM]

Another thing to note is, there is a main dining room and a side dining room and both filled up pretty quickly both in the mornings and late evenings - so plan accordingly and get there early if you can.
