Top 5 Tips For Better Bridal Prep Photos
I’ve been doing this a very long time and I’ve gathered my favorite tips to help you have better photos and also help the photo/video team in a big way. Here are the top 5 tips for bridal preparation photos that brides should consider or do to help their photographer and videographer on the wedding day:
CLEAN UP - Keep the getting ready room clean and tidy. Have the hotel staff make the bed and remove any clutter before the photographers/videographers arrive. I’ve seen many instances where this was not done and while the photos are still ok, they could have been elevated even more had the room and space been kept free of drink cans, snack bags, and trash.
GET THINGS TOGETHER - Have all the details (dress, shoes, bouquet jewelry, etc.) gathered in one spot. This allows the photographers to efficiently capture detail shots. What I prefer is everything small I’ll need placed inside a plastic box with a snap close lid. This would include, rings, bracelets, necklaces, small pieces of the flowers, anything else important to your day.
CLOTHES HANGERS - Use a decorative or custom hanger for the wedding dress instead of a plain plastic one. This is one thing I see often neglected. A custom hanger takes dress shots to the next level!
MUA - Get hair and makeup done first to avoid running late and cutting into photography time. This is super important!
# OF PEOPLE - Keep the number of people in the getting ready room to a minimum besides bridesmaids, immediate family, and vendors. Too many people can add stress and chaos.
I hope you found this quick list helpful! These 5 simple things literally make a world of difference on the wedding day for your photo/video team!
